We've created several series that highlight different parenting skills, approaches, and values-informed actions that may be of use to you.

Check out a preview of our many series below!

01

Play Series

Play is an instrumental activity in childhood: it’s how children learn and develop their skills, gain a sense of mastery, and make sense of their world. Unstructured play also provides opportunities for fostering curiosity and creativity, understanding and exploration of emotions, and connection with self and others.

Because of the importance of this foundational activity, we’ve chosen this series to highlight elements of play that can be integrated in accordance with your values and to foster connecting moments. Informed by child-centered play therapy, these strategies are here for you to use when you are invited into your child’s world during play.

02

Mindfulness Series

There are many ways to bring mindfulness to your days and to practice this skill with your family. This series is about showcasing ways to move into mindful practices with flexibility.

03

Childhood Series

Parenting is hard work and we carry a lot of pressure to get it “right”. This series is about celebrating the more authentic moments of connection that adult children remember and appreciate.

04

Values & Vulnerability Series

We created this beautiful series to help model the practice of holding complex feelings and moving towards vulnerability when it feels meaningful to do so. An important component of self-compassion practices is the understanding of our shared humanity. We are not alone in our experiences and our suffering, and we can seek the support we need.

This series offers examples of language and experiences that can be shared in range of parenting topics. The aim of this series is to promote a practice of honoring our humanity by making space for what we’ve experienced. These examples are not exhaustive, but may serve as models to move into sharing.

05

Regulation Building Series

So much about compassionate parenting is about nurturing what is happening beneath the surface. By building up regulation practices for our children, they can learn to feel safe in their bodies and relate and respond to the whole of their experiences. This regulation building series will highlight facets of this work in small and actionable steps.

06

Choice Giving Series

Providing your child with choices is an important way to help them develop their autonomy, decision-making skills, and sense of agency. It’s important for children to learn that their voice and preferences matter, and that they are able to effect change in their environment. As a bonus, providing choices and collaboration in this manner can lessen the potential for power struggles.

07

Quote Series

This series showcases different quotes and invites reflection and relevant actions for compassionate parenting.

08

Intentional Parenting Series

This series is about prompting reflection and intention to begin your weeks. Building intentionality in our interactions can help guide us in taking the steps that are most meaningful to us.

09

Mantra Series

“Mantra” comes from the Sanskrit language, meaning “sound”.  Mantras may take the form of repeated sounds or phrases said aloud or privately to ground and connect, and may hold sacred significance for many. When repeated, they may serve the body to calm and focus the body and mind.

Mantras may serve as a component of a self-compassionate and regulating practice or they can stand on their own. If integrating mantras into your routines feels aligned for you and your values, consider the messages you wish to send yourself in those moments.

10

Invisible Labor Series

This series is about the labor parents do that is often not named, but is very much felt. In addition to honoring the everyday work of parents, we also hope to normalize how these efforts may have parents feeling depleted and overwhelmed. These tasks all require physical, emotional, and mental effort, and are not done in isolation. Oftentimes these tasks are carried in the context of multiple children, work stress, health issues, financial barriers, and life challenges. These tasks may also vary based on parenting and partner/family support. Sometimes even the inability to partake in some of these tasks can take a larger toll on us.

11

All in Day Values Series

We believe in the importance of moving towards living in alignment with our values and believe that we can bring intentionality to living our values daily - even if flexibly and in small ways. We also understand parenting should be supported by the communities we live in. We’ve designed this series to focus on potential values-aligned outings that may be cultivated in your own community.

12

...And much, much more

Sometimes our content doesn't fit neatly into an existing series but we believe it may introduce meaningful reflection and utility for caregivers.
